At Leicestershire Tennis Club we are proud of the achievements of our junior section and keen to build on them. There are many opportunities for young players, excellent coaching sessions, Performance Groups, many teams to play in, and we welcome you to join us.

Every year we enter 12 or more teams into the Aegon leagues. Juniors are eligible for selection for tennis teams ranging from under eight (mini red), under nine (mini orange), under ten (mini green), under 12, 14, 16, and 18, in both boys' and girls' events. In 2010 our Club Teams were county champions in a remarkable four out of the eight County age-groups played with a yellow ball. 

We also enter a team in the Fallows Cup under 17 knock-out competition, which we have either won or reached the final in three out of the last four years. And our best juniors can expect to be asked to play in the senior teams in the Leicestershire League.

For less experienced juniors who can rally, as well as tournament players, there is an evening of match play each Saturday in the Spring and Summer. This introduces young players to competition in a friendly and social environment. For more experienced juniors, open match play is organised in the October and February half-terms and Christmas holidays.

Rounding out this array of competitive opportunities for juniors, under 14s can enter the club level Road to Wimbledon competition. Winners and runners up go forward to the County competition. Details of this are posted on the notice board and emailed to members.

On a less formal basis juniors very welcome to play with other members, juniors or otherwise, at any time. Non-member friends can also be invited on payment of a visitor's fee.
